When trying to import data, you may get this message:

QCtrl: Date Time

Cannot import into this type of layer.

Additional Information: Only WKT layer types are supported for import

This happens because either you are trying to import image data into a layer marked as a photo layer or vice versa. When you create a layer, there is a checkbox saying Layer is an Image Layer. If you select this, only raster (image) data can go into the layer and no vector data.

To fix this either import into a different layer, or create a new layer for the correct type of data.
