Import using Address Geocoding |
Top Previous Next |
By pre processing the data you would be able to get a better match when importing data using the Address Geocoding function. eg using street type abbreviations such as Rd St Ave Dr Cres Tce
NOTE: QuickMap uses “Place” not “Pl”
It is also possible to validate the spelling of road names and districts by comparing these to the QuickMap data within the QMap\Data\Legal\north_address.mdb
Click on File, Import and choose the Import Wizard, OK
.
Select the Database and OK
This will bring up the Add New Layer dialog box with the option Add Layer from Existing Database automatically selected from Step 1. Select the Table containing the Data and give the Layer a name, removing the tick if it is to be different from the Table and Select Add Layer from Step 3. In Step 1 from the Dialog box below, select Address - House Number, Road Name and Locality Choose the Group the layer is to be created in, the field representing the label and let QuickMap create a new Primary Key. Select Next
Follow Steps 6 - 9 then click on Finish
Some records may require manual geocoding.
