If you are installing QuickMap Professional onto Windows NT, 2000, XP Vista or Windows 7, then it is important you log on as administrator to ensure you have enough privileges to install the software.  (If you are not asked for a Username and Password, you possibly already have the required administrative privileges).

NOTE:  QuickMap is not supported on Windows 95, 98 or ME.

To install the software:

Close all open programs, so that only Windows is running.
There are two disks per Island labelled Disk 1 and Disk 2. Place the CD-ROM labelled Disk 1 into your computer’s CD-ROM drive.
Run the program Setup.exe on the CD-ROM.
This can be achieved by either using Windows Explorer and double clicking on setup.exe from the CD Drive OR by clicking the Start button at the bottom of the screen, and then clicking run and typing: drive letter:\setup.exe and then OK. For example, if the setup disk is drive d, type d:\setup.exe.
Answer setup questions as prompted  choosing the Typical Install option.
You may be asked to reboot your computer at the end of the installation of Disk 1.  This is to ensure the QuickMap font is registered to enable the map symbols to draw correctly.
If you wish to install Appellation, Title and Owner, insert Disk 2 and run Setup.exe.

NOTE: QuickMap should not be installed under Program Files under Windows Vista or Windows 7., It is recommended you install to the default location which is C:\QMap. If you currently have QuickMap installed in Program Files, we recommend you uninstalled and then reinstalled to C:\QMap even if it appears to working correctly, to avoid software update failures.
