When starting Quickmap, you may get the Quickmap Data Reporter popping up each time. This is because Quickmap is set to launch the Find Tool when Quickmap starts, but the only tab that can appear in the Find Tool is the Report tab, which automatically launches the Quickmap Data Reporter. The reason that the other tabs don’t appear on the Find Tool is because Quickmap isn’t pointing to a valid Data Directory.
The following are a list of suggestions to fix the Data Directory:
- Click Help -> About Quickmap to see where Quickmap thinks the Data Directory is. Navigate to this location to ensure that it’s accessible and holds valid data (you may need to reinstall the data to this location).
- Try reinstalling Quickmap from the QSetup.exe file held in the folder above your correct Data Directory (You may need to click Help -> Software Updates… after installing to upgrade to the latest version).
- Search the Windows Registry (regedit.msc) for the invalid Data Directory specified in step 1. Correct any instances of this, which could include (but are not limited to):
- Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Custom Software\Quickmap\Config
- Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Quickmap\Config
