Software Update Failed. Could Not Connect.

When updating Quickmap from the Help -> Software Updates menu, you may get this error:

Software Update Failed

Could not connect to net.tcp://downloads.quickmap.co.nz/DataDownloadService/DataDownloadServices.svc. The connection attempt lasted for a time span of xxx. TCP error code 10060: A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond (IP Address).

This is because Quickmap cannot connect to the URL in the error, over TCP port 808 using the net.tcp protocol.

This could be due to a firewall on your computer, network or ISP, or some other network related issue. There is also a possibility that the Quickmap server is down (though this hasn’t happened to date), so if you are confident the traffic is not being blocked by you or your ISP, please contact Quickmap for a fix.
