When trying to start Quickmap, you may get this error:

Quickmap: Unexpected Error Encountered

Unable to contact Quickmap license service.

This error may be accompanied by the following errors in the support logs:

Inner Exception(-1) CommunicationException: There was an error reading from the pipe: Unrecognized error 109 (0x6d).

Inner Exception(-2) PipeException: There was an error reading from the pipe: Unrecognized error 109 (0x6d).

This can be caused by a number of reasons, the most likely of which are listed here:

• You are using an older version of Quickmap 8. Updating Quickmap may fix this issue.
• Another program is using the port which is used by Quickmap to contact the Quickmap Licensing Service. See this article on port conflicts with the Quickmap Licensing Service for assistance.
