When you try to download data using the Quickmap Data Download Manager, you may get the following error:

Access to the path ‘\\server\folder\Qmap\Data\’ is
denied.

This is because the Log On Account that runs the “Quickmap Data Download Service” service does not have permission to write files to the location specified in the error.

To fix this, start the services.msc snap-in (type services.msc in the start menu) as an administrator (right click -> Run as administrator). Then right click the “Quickmap Data Download Service” service and click Properties. Click the Log On tab and specify an account with which to run the service, which has permission to write to the specified folder.

Alternatively, install the Quickmap Data Download Manager on the server hosting the shared data, instead.
