In addition to automatically updating Quickmap data, it’s also possible to have Quickmap automatically update it’s own software. To do this, start Quickmap, click Help, then Software Updates… and check the box to “Download and install software updates automatically“. You can also set the time that this happens (the computer must be turned on during this time for the update to happen).

Note that this will only update the software and not the data, but it will mean that you’re constantly kept up to date with the latest features (link to What’s new in Quickmap 8 article). Also, you’ll have to be logged in as an Administrator so the update is fully automated, otherwise you’ll be prompted for your Administrator credentials.
