There is a label associated with a Polygon, Line or a Point.
This can be edited separately. From the Symbology Editor, select the Edit Label button.
Label alignment can be adjusted and Labels will be visible provided the check box is ticked.
Click on the Font Button to change style, colour and size of Label font. It is advisable to have the map at the optimum scale for viewing the label prior to changing the font size. As the map is zoomed out, the label will appear smaller.
From V7.3.14 it is possible for point and line text size to be scaled up, down or WYSIWYG (What you see is what you get) when printing. This feature is accessed through the symbology editor points label form. Make sure there is a tick in the "Scale Labels" box and set the Scale Value
