Feature Type

To set what type of feature you are adding, click on one of the feature type radio buttons.

Points

A Point is used to show text, labels or symbols. To place a point, click the point feature type radio button, then single click the left mouse on the map.

Lines

A Line is a connected series of two or more points used to display lines or rotate text. To place a line, click on the Line feature type radio button, and then click the left mouse button on the map at each point in order.

Polygons

A Polygon is a connected series of three or more points closing on the start point to form an area. To place a polygon, click on the Polygon feature type radio button, and then click three or more points with the left mouse button on the map.

Save To Layer

The Save to Layer in the pull down list box determines which layer the feature is saved to when you click the Save button. By default this is set to Edit Layer. If you wish to save to a layer not listed in the pull down list box, then a new layer may be added to the list.  See adding a new layer
