When trying to install Quickmap, you can get this error:
VPath V3.0.3
“The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable.
Click OK to try again, or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package ‘VPathV303.msi’ in the box below”.
- When any program is installed, Windows keeps a copy of the installer (in this case, VPathV303.msi) in a cache location so it can be accessed in future if there are changes to the program.
- This error is telling you that the feature of the installer is in a location that is unavailable. In other words, it can’t find VPathV303.msi. (Possibly the MSI cache directory has been cleared or was in a location that is no longer available).
- In this case, it seems that the VPath installer is being triggered upon installing Quickmap. This is possibly because VPath is using (modifing) some shared components that Quickmap uses.
To fix this:
- Uninstall VPath
- Install Quickmap
- Test that Quickmap works
- Reinstall VPath, if still required (:!: Optional)
