Could Not Open Database Mbk.mdb

When trying to open Quickmap, you may get this error:

Quickmap Initialisation Error

QCtrl: Date Time

Could not open database Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;Data Source=C:\QMap\Data\Expansion\Mdk.mdb;Persist Security Info=False;

Additional Information: You do not have the necessary permissions to use the ‘C:\QMap\Data\Expansion\Mdk.mdb’ object. Have your system administrator or the person who created this object establish the appropriate permissions for you.

Additionally, you may also get:

Quickmap: Unexpected Error Encountered

OleDbException (Cannot open database ”. It may not be a database that your application recognizes, or the file may be corrupt.) in method ShowPlanSearch of class SurveyHelper

While the second error could be caused by a corruption in the data (Quickmap Database Mbk.mdb released around January 2019 exhibited this behavior if the Windows NTFS permissions for Mbk.mdb are set to read only), and fixed by reinstalling the data (contact us if you are using the Mbk.mdb file released around January 2019 – we can supply a new one), both errors are associated with the NTFS permissions (as the first error suggests in the Additional Information section).

To fix this, ensure that you have permission to read and write to files in the directory specified in the error message (as it appears on your computer). If you don’t know how to do this, you can use this utility to fix this for you:

http://downloads.quickmap.co.nz/URLDownloadHost/downloads/Qpermissions

If this doesn’t fix the issue, try reinstalling the data.
