How To Add Things To The Quick Search (Find) Menu

The Quick Search list on the Find menu is a handy shortcut that helps you search regularly accessed data, but did you know that you can add your own customized items to the list to search through your own data?

To add your own customized searches to the Find menu:

  1. Right click the layer that you want to be able to search through, and click “Layer Properties”.
  2. Click the “Modify Structure” button
  3. Choose the field to be searched from the “Field Details” list, then tick the “Selectable Column appears in Find Menu” checkbox and enter values for the “Find Menu Prompt” and “Find Dialog Prompt”
  4. Click “Apply” then close the popup windows.

The item should now appear on the “Find” menu and you’ll be able to search through the layer from the Find menu
