When importing files (such as SHP files), Quickmap crashes / closes / shuts down. This is likely due to one of two bugs where either:

• The file you are importing is on a different drive to Quickmap, such as a network drive.
• The file you are importing has a filename that is too long. This length includes the full path to the file. i.e. C:\ThisFileNameIsTooLong\File.SHP. It is suspected that the maximum file length is less than 256 characters, though this needs more investigation.

To fix this, put the file on the same drive as Quickmap and in a place that will give it a shorter filename, such as C:\Temp\FileToImport.SHP.

This is a known bug and is on the list of bugs to fix.
